Description
'Within the mystical realms, there exists SIX tribes of Dragons. each a master at it's own element.
the first was FIRE..the most common.
then, came ICE, EARTH, ELECTRICITY, AIR and finally WATER.
but, Once every ten generations..a 'different' type of dragon comes into being: The PURPLE Dragon.
one destined to bring Hope, Justice and Peace the the realms (be they Dragon, or NON-Dragons)
in today's age, in the Equine ruled realm of Equestria..there is one such Dragon.
Spike was found by the alicorn princess Celestia many moons ago,
and, was hatched by her apprectice, Twilight Sparkle (a very gifted Unicorn)
Since as long as he can remember, the purple dragon has played the selfless role of 'assistant' to Twilight.
with his only recorded act of heroism being him defeating of the dark unicorn of shadows: King Sombra.
it is only a matter of time before the young dragon realizes his true destiny..
..I just hope that Malefor, the fallen purple dragon of old (now known as "The Dark Master")
NEVER discovers his existance..lest he attempts to destroy, or corrupt his successor.
for, while Spike is pure of heart..so was once Malefor.
although..Malefor never had somepony like this Rarity to keep his heart in the light.

This was something that I wanted to try out for fun, AND to see if anyone responds to it well.
this "crossover" idea started when I became immersed with 'The Legend of Spyro' trilogy.
a game series that reinvented Spyro the Dragon as a "chosen one", rather than 'some-young-dragon-who-goes-on-adventures'
the games canon described purple dragons as "special" dragons,
born once every ten generations, and are destined to bring hope and peace.
since then, I look at purple dragons quite differently.
and, the fact that Spike in 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic' is indeed a purple dragon..makes me wonder.
(even more so after 'The Crystal Kingdom' episodes, where SPIKE was the one who defeated King Sombra.)
However, just like Spyro in the games, one has to wonder what would happen,
if Malefor, the first/fallen purple dragon discovered Spike, and what he might try to do.
knowing Malefor, he may be a tad 'disgusted' that Spike mingles with "the magic horses"
and, would indeed try to twist the true nature of their kind as DESTROYERS, rather than Protectors.
